| This cottage has it all. Great view, Cozy indoors and lots to do outdoors. The place was nice and clean. The cottage looks even better in person than it does in pictures. A couple of things to be mindful of when booking, the drive to the cottage has lots of slopes with gravel, if you dont have 4 wheel drive, you'll have some issues going up some of those slopes. The nearest grocery store is 30-35 minute drive away, and you'll have to take your compost and trash with you as there is no garbage pick up. Other than that, we had a great time.

| We spent an awesome fall week at this lovely cottage tucked away on Anstruther Lake. The cottage revealed itself, nestled into the hillside that dips down to the lake. From the kitchen and living room (the main living area), we had full view of the water (that I just couldn't get enough of!), the rocky edges, the sky and trees in full autumn colour. October was a bit chilly, so we had the wood stove working 24/7 and there was plenty of wood to feed the fire. In fact pretty much anything we needed was provided, which made packing for this trip a lot easier! The cottage's outdoors is multileveled, with a deck and water-facing, covered eating area, a screened in gazebo with lazy chairs, a fire pit area and then the beach and dock; plenty to explore. The cottage has all you need with lots of modern comforts, without losing its cottage-ness. It's about 30-40 mins away from shops and conveniences. "The Catch 507", just 10 min drive away, has quite the lineup at lunch (they make the best breakfast sandwiches!). It's on a forestry road, so use your GPS and you'll find it easily. For the first time, I recommend driving in during the day, to familiarize yourself. We found the area to be very quiet and private in October and I've never seen so many stars! I highly recommend this spot to others, but then again, I selfishly want to keep it a secret! I definitely want to return in the heat of summer and get to enjoy it again in a whole new way.
