Ready for some relaxation? Discover the serenity of our lakeside retreat nestled within 6 acres of old growth forest land, boasting an impressive 1000 feet of shoreline. This enchanting property offers a secluded escape surrounded by natural beauty. Immerse yourself in leisurely days spent lounging on the dock, indulging in evening s'mores by the campfire, and relishing the soothing calls of loons under the starry night sky. When winter arrives, embark on adventures like cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, then cozy up by the inviting woodstove. The property features a shallow entry point into the water made up hard packed sand and small rocks/ silt/organics (think leaves from past seasons). Children will be safe to wade in and enjoy swimming and water shoes are a good idea. This is a lake front, not a typical sandy beach. Additionally, two docks extend into clean water for swimming and lounging.
For the angler in you, pursue excellent fishing with bass and rainbow trout aplenty. Explore the lake, casting your line or simply soaking in the tranquility of the surroundings.
Indoors, the cottage offers modern comforts, including two smart TVs and fast Wi-Fi, or venture down to the game area for some entertainment. You can find some outdoor games like badminton and bocce in the lower level closet as well.
The cottage itself exudes rustic charm, with pine walls and wood floors. Recent renovations have graced it with a new kitchen equipped with a dishwasher and microwave. The three bedrooms include two cozy queen beds, a double/single bunk bed, and a convenient pull-out sofa bed. The bathroom features a generous tub with a shower. For those with accessibility concerns, 1 Queen and the sofa bed are located on the lower level. The bathroom is located on the main floor along with the bunkbeds and queen bedrooms. There are about 10 stairs to climb between levels.
The cottage has A/C - it is a 'window' unit that is located on the main floor or use when the temperature is very hot. Usually the lake breeze, windows and ceiling fans (in all main level rooms) keep the cottage comfortable for most during the summer.
The living room is a haven of natural light, surrounded by windows framing picturesque views of the lush trees and shimmering water. Step outside onto the deck, bask in the sun on the patio, or fire up the grill to complement your cocktails while you take in the evening light.
To access the waterfront, take the two wide pathways leading about 100 feet down to the two docks, where the water is about 6 feet deep at the end. One is steeper and may be difficult for the elderly, the other is more gentle and winding. Explore the lake at your leisure with our selection of watercraft, including two canoes, one paddle boat, 2 paddle boards, one spacious fishing boat, and a foam sailboat.
For added privacy, a charming bunkie is just a two-minute stroll from the cottage, beyond the fire pit. It features its own deck, a mini fridge, a small kitchenette, and a luxurious queen bed. Please note, the bunk has power but no running water and therefore no toilet.
Additional Information:
Summer:
Please note that the road to the cottage is a private dirt road with hills, twists and turns, along with a few potholes. Drive carefully, especially after the sharp left turn following #1469 (Brumell Ave). After that turn, stay to the right to remain on Wenona Lake Road. Once you reach a dead end, you've reached your destination. Our cottage is the last one on the road. Rogers cell signal may be unreliable on this road, while Bell offers excellent coverage. GPS and mapping apps like Google Maps and Apple Maps tends to stop before you get all the way to the cottage, you need to continue all the way to the end. Waze is less accurate. Rest assured that once you arrive at the cottage, the Wi-Fi is fast and reliable.
***IMPORTANT *** Winter:
In winter, the road REQUIRES all-wheel drive AND winter tires. During extremely icy conditions, it could become impassable closer to the cottage. In such cases, you may need to park and hike the remaining distance.

| I cannot say enough good things about our stay here. This cottage had everything we needed and more. Jen was amazing from the start. Quick to respond to any questions we had. The beds were super comfortable and the cottage was clean and well kept. Beautiful breeze coming right off the lake when the windows are open. The views were breathtaking and the wildlife was amazing. Felt like a mini paradise. The chipmunks crawled right up our legs and sat with us as we read. And the bluejays also kept us company. Not to mention the beavers, the loons, wild turkeys and deer that kept coming around. The campfires under the dark starry sky was a great way to end the day. Even the dog loved it!! This was the perfect getaway for our family and I would recommend anyone looking for a quiet getaway, to book here. We stayed the last week of September, and the colours were beautiful. Thank you Jen for everything!

| We enjoyed a week at this cottage end of July 2024 and had a blast. It was extremely private with no neighbors within sight which was great for the dogs to roam. I haven't stayed at a cottage with this much waterfront. There was so much wildlife to see and enjoy, and the fishing was awesome despite it being one of the hottest weeks of the year! We didn't catch any trout but there were plenty of small and large mouth bass! The kids had fun using the watercraft and playing in the water off the dock.
The cottage was clean with comfortable beds, and equipped with pretty much everything that we needed. Jen was a great host and answered any questions that I had! We certainly would return!

| This cottage was exactly as advertised! Beautiful views, lots of space, lots of outdoor activities, animals galore (we saw a beaver, groundhog, gopher, otter, chipmunks, loons and even a marten!) Great value for your money! We spent a week here for our annual family vacation and had a blast. Jen was an amazing host and very responsive! We had an issue with the air conditioner and she had someone come out and fix it immediately (not that it was really needed with the lake wind and ceiling fans). My only recommendations would be bring an extra fan if you are sleeping in the Bunkie or the bedroom with the bunk beds... it gets very hot in there! Also, you definitely need 4 wheel drive as the road leading to the cottage is VERY bumpy (lots of potholes due to rain!). If you are venturing outside the cottage a quick stop at Agnew's General Store in Wilberforce for some Kawartha ice-cream is must!!!

Owner response: We are so glad you had such a wonderful time Tracy! And that you spotted such amazing wildlife and enjpy our special spot! We also appreciate your feedback about the A/C. We hope to add a ceiling fan for the bunkie this fall and we plan to provide an A/C unit for the bunkbed room for next season. Our end of the road did sustain some damage due to serious summer storms this year but should be fixed mid August, so next year will hopefully be a little smoother when if/when you come back :). Please do! We'd love to have you! | |
