Escape to the serene beauty of our private cottage on Skootamatta Lake, only 10 minutes to Bon Echo Park! Nestled on a flat lot surrounded by majestic trees and a private bay, this idyllic 4 season retreat boasts 3 separate buildings for a fun filled multi family get away.
In the Summer, enjoy weed free, deep water swimming off one of the 3 docks, kayaking or SUP'ing in the pristine water of Skootamatta lake or boating & fishing in the open water. With the boat launch conveniently located directly across the bay it is easy to launch your boat and settle into the cottage within minutes!
In the winter, enjoy skating on the frozen bay, snowmobiling (OFSC trail system is accessed directly from the cottage) or skiing nearby at Calabogie Resort. After your days of fun in the sun or snow, relax in our new 7 person hot tub as you look up at the stars and enjoy the peace and quiet.
The Space
This newly renovated cottage & bunkie sits on 2 acres of total privacy on a dead end road with 5 other cottages on it. The cottage has a large wooded hill to the left of it and a private bay on the right ensuring lots of space to roam and enjoy many activities without a peep from anyone! With 12 steps from the cottage to the 20x20 large dock you feel like you are truly in a waterfront oasis. Both the cottage and bunkie were fully renovated in 2023 and are well equipped with high speed internet, Satellite TV, new appliances, furnishings, AC and a Generac backup generator in case the power goes out. With 2 indoor fireplaces and a large outdoor firepit with seating for 12 there is plenty of space to roast marshmallows in the summer and cozy up after a day on the trails in the winter.
The brand new open concept kitchen has everything you might need and more. In addition to a new dishwasher, two fridges, you will have a powerful blender, deluxe all in one coffee/espresso machine, - all to ensure your favorite drink is not compromised. Most of the imaginable kitchen utensils, a water filter, high-end pots and pans, baking trays, bowls, quality knives, and copious table and flatware will make cooking and serving your meal a breeze.. With an indoor dining table that seats up to 10, a breakfast nook that seats 4 and an outdoor dining space that seats 6, all are easily accessed from the outdoor BBQ on the wrap around deck. Sliding glass doors run across the entire back of the cottage so whether you are dining, cooking or relaxing in the living room, you always can enjoy the breeze and sounds of the lake throughout the cottage.
The main floor has two bedrooms (both with double beds) with a shared bathroom and the upstairs has two large bedrooms (both with queen beds) and a shared bathroom. Sleeps 8 comfortably.
The Bunkie is mere seconds from the main cottage but feels like an entirely separate space! It is a perfect oasis for teens or a second family to share in the fun. The Bunkie was fully renovated in 2023 and boasts a large main floor living space with TV and streaming, a walk out to a new deck, the firepit and bayside dock. Main floor has 2 twin beds and a sofa that comfortably sleeps three. There are 2 bedrooms on the upper level as well as a bathroom with filtered water and water cooler, AC and comfortably sleeps seven across 3 queen beds and a twin XL.
The outdoor gazebo blends into the deck and is steps from the main cottage. It is the ideal space to read a book in the day, play board games at night or chat with family as they relax in the deckside hot tub.
The outdoor space has plenty of spots for a game of ladderball, badminton or chipping golf balls. Waterfront boasts 3 separate docks equipped with a tinny, 2 kayaks, Stand Up Paddleboard, paddles, and many life jackets for your comfort, safety, and fun.
