LOCATION Located on the edge of Ontario's newest Conservation Area, Monarch Point, at the southernmost shore of Prince Edward County. Monarch Point, and our cottage, are directly on the migratory path of birds and butterflies. The cottage is very private, surrounded by forest, and located across the road from Soup Harbour Bay known for its magnificent sunsets and shallow, clean, limestone shoreline which is great for swimming. Enjoy the surroundings from the three-sided wrap around porch where you can see the lake, watch the birds, and listen to the croaking frogs in the wetland nearby. And let's not forget about the night sky! With the nearest neighbours hundreds of meters away, it gets very dark here. OUR COTTAGE Our three-bedroom bungalow has everything on one level, plus a loft for additional sleeping or relaxation space. There's a propane fireplace in the great room, in case it gets chilly, and air conditioning and fans for the hotter summer nights. Our kitchen is stocked with cooking basics (oil, spices, condiment) as well as paper products for your use. There's a BBQ and lots of plates, glasses, pots and cutlery should you choose to eat in. If you would rather not cook, you are 20 minutes from Bloomfield and Picton, plus wineries, breweries and other artisan food and beverage establishments where you can get a meal along with a local beverage. THINGS TO DO We provide two kayaks, a canoe, a few bicycles and a pass to Sandbanks, which is 20 minutes away. You can walk or bike into the conservation area including a spectacular walk along the shore. Lighthall Winery is also a short bike ride away. Swimming is great in high season, even for little ones as it is very shallow and clear at the access point. There's also a fire pit with lots of firewood. For nights in, there are board games, 2 TV's, DVDs, as well as internet access so you can steam your favourite show. NOTES We rent the cottage for a limited amount of time so we have not needed to register for HST. We are using Cottages In Canada because, unlike with VBRO and AirBnB, we do not need to charge you the HST on this site. You only pay the 4% Municipal Accommodation Tax on top of the posted fee nightly rent, thus you save the 13% HST and the app booking fee when you book with us. Our Short Term Accommodation license is limited to 6 adults plus three children aged 10 and under. We will not take more guests even though we have the room. The cottage has been rented privately for the past couple of years to repeat renters. We can provide references if this is helpful. $350 - $550 / night $900 - $1100 / weekend $2500 - $3200 / week EVA KRALITS Member since March 2024 Speaks: English Response Rate: 100% |
