Nestled on a private lot at the top of a hill overlooking Buck Lake and surrounded by majestic, towering maples, "Deer Crest" family cottage is a nature lover's oasis! This very classy, well-maintained and welcoming open-concept family cottage features 2 bedrooms to comfortably sleep 5 and also a Bunkie with additional sleeping only a few steps from the main cottage. The living room is spacious and offers pine-lined walls and wood floors for a traditional cottage feel. It offers a comfortable sitting area, great for lounging, enjoying a good book or spending time with family. The living area walks out onto a large, glass-railed deck boasting captivating, panoramic views of Buck Lake. Walk down the rock-lined, landscaped path to the stairs to the waterfront level and you'll enjoy an unfolding panorama of impressive, expansive views over the Lake. The scenery and rock face that you pass on your way down to the water's-edge is fantastic!
Both bedrooms are very cozy and have new laminate flooring. The master bedroom has the added bonus of a patio-door walkout to the screened-in Muskoka Room which is undoubtedly one of the most relaxing places I have been and an oft-mentioned favorite of previous guests. It's over-sized, wrap-around windows offer views of the Lake and surrounding forest, while the vaulted, open-rafter ceiling and fan provide an airy, comfortable environment to truly unwind. It's hard to grasp in words but it is definitely worth the drive up to enjoy for yourself. Just picture relaxing in the soothing ambiance of the Muskoka Room, fresh breezes wafting through and sipping a glass of wine after the kids have headed off to bed. On a quiet summer evening you may even hear the lonesome call of the loons. Wouldn't that be amazing?!
"Deer Crest's" gorgeous waterfront features traditional Muskoka rock faces and deep, weed-free, crystal-clear water. This area has been designed to enable spending an entire day at water's-edge, enjoying the sun and the lake. A wonderful cantilevered deck, perched on a rock outcropping, has see-through glass railings and literally overhangs the lake. The views of the lake and opposite, cottage-free shore are magnificent. Relax in your Muskoka chair with a good book and doze off if you wish. Or spend hours being entertained by kids (or you!) taking running jumps into the lake from the large floating dock. Get out on the water and enjoy kayaking, canoeing and exploring. Or kick back around the fire-pit, roast some hot dogs, make s'mores or enjoy a relaxing night-time campfire after an exhilarating day on the water. There is a BBQ, mini-fridge, Muskoka chairs and wrought-iron dining table and chairs on the waterfront level.
"Deer Crest" offers multiple locations throughout that will appeal to the sun lover and the shade lover. Buck lake is a beautiful, family-oriented and quiet lake with a minimum of boat traffic. It is shaped like an hourglass with 2 bays on either end of the narrows. The lake is approximately 3 miles long and each bay is approximately 1 mile wide. It offers fantastic fishing, boating, swimming and all sorts of water activities.
This is a fantastic spot for your family vacation or a romantic getaway in the woods. A place to reconnect and disappear from the world and all of its responsibilities if even for just a little while!
