Where Intergenerational Family Experiences and Memories Are Made In A Timeless Victorian Era Cottage Right On Southampton's Main Beach Welcome to the Bonnie Doon, a vintage “one of a kind” Victorian cottage built circa 1885, located directly on one of the best stretches of the main beach. Enjoy the wide sandy beach and exceptional swimming and boating. It is a hidden gem for discerning renters who value character, nostalgia, and authenticity over modern luxury and who want to experience the golden era of Ontario beach cottages. The Bonnie Doon is ideally situated such that it is extremely private with gorgeous lake views; while at the same time it is in close walking proximity to the quaint shops and restaurants of the main street, the boardwalk to the long dock and Jerry's Fries, the Saugeen River harbour as well as the Southampton Tennis club with its complimentary tennis lessons for short term members . Relax and unwind and enjoy the sound of the surf during morning coffee or afternoon cocktails from the covered porch, the private sundeck, or the island viewing platform. The Bonnie Doon has been lovingly maintained, and its quirkiness intentionally preserved. It has been described by guests as “enduring charm with modern comforts where it counts”. All services (plumbing, electricity, internet) have been upgraded. Its amenities include : four cozy bedrooms; a living/ dining room and separate games/sunroom room; a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher; a washer/dryer; bathroom with a walk-in shower and a clawfoot soaking tub , as well as an outdoor shower for washing off the sand. Outside is a BBQ, a shed for bikes etc. and a greenspace for playing, and private parking.
This cottage is especially well suited to grandparents who want their grandchildren to experience cottaging like they did, or to families or even groups of friends. It has been lovingly enjoyed for celebrations, special occasions, and just to get away from it all and savour a slower paced escape. Your furry best friend will love our dog friendly policy. Calm and well-behaved dogs are very welcome.

Or be active and enjoy golfing, playing tennis, biking, hiking the nearby Bruce Trails, boating, taking advantage of the thriving arts community and art lessons, or a myriad of other nearby activities.
