Enjoy beautiful Rice Lake from our 4 season North Shore cottage with south facing wrap around windows, and spectacular sunrises from the private split-level deck just steps away from the water.
Explore the lake by kayak, rowboat, or simply enjoy fishing from our private dock.
Very fast Starlink internet service included.

Open concept Octagon Great Room with gas fireplace, comfortable with well appointed seating. Paula's Place is a Very Special Oasis for the whole family, located close to central North Kawartha's many attractions but in a very private, quiet location.

Spectacular fishing, Muskellunge, Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Carp, Crappie, panfish like bluegill, pumpkinseed, rock bass and yellow perch.

Located just 90 minutes North East of Toronto, North Kawartha offers numerous attractions and natural wonders to discover, there is an abundance of Crown land, well suited to cottaging, exploring, boating, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and ice fishing to name but a few activities.

Low traffic private road and driveway for 2 cars.
Aluminum row boat and 2 kayak's included, the dock is 30ft long for your own boat, Public Boat Launch is just 3 mins away.

We had an amazing stay at Paula's place. The cottage was spotless, very spacious and well equipped. We loved the massive open concept octagon hall and kitchen with many windows and a large ceiling fan. The beds were very comfortable with AC in the rooms.

The deck was the main attraction affording 180 deg views of the lake. The views were stunning and breathtaking especially during sunrise and sunset. The multiple seating options and thoughtful use of glass for deck walls ensured uninterrupted views of the lake even when seated/lounging. We spent most of our time on the deck.

We made good use of the kayaks and row boat provided. There was a dock for fishing and swimming. The row boat was a favourite as we could go out as a family and kids could fish in the middle of the lake. Rice lake lived up to its name as a fishing destination with my kids rewarded with 3 catches, their first ever!

Paula was a gracious host. She was always available to answer any questions or provide assistance. Loved the friendly chats with her and other neighbours.

Overall, the stay at Paula's exceeded our expectations in every way and was by far our best cottage rental experience. I will highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and picturesque retreat.

After being greeted warmly by friendly & easygoing host Paula, we're ushered into this serene home
that far exceeds expectations, which we were so in need of. Paula knew this & was both welcoming & caring & always available if needed. This place boasts absolutely stunning views of the water that you see up close from the huge, multi leveled deck. This outdoor oasis features multiple seating areas ( even reclining chairs & a hammock) most with options for shade, and a well placed bbq. The dock offers a boat & kayaks! 3 separate sets of glass doors, w/ screens, offer a view while inside the large, open concept great room whose unique size and shape are only second to the incredibly beautiful high ceilings. This massive space has everything you need to cook meals or simply crash on the comfy couch & watch a movie. The large screened doors, windows & ceiling fan ensure you can stay comfortable & enjoy a beautiful breeze. For those wishing for a bit cooler sleeping area, both bedrooms feature air conditioning. The 1st features a comfy double bed & plenty of space. Next is a washroom w/ laundry facilities. You end with a huge master suite the size of many condos. A very comfortable Queen bed is surrounded by large closets & plenty of storage. Large windows w/ a lake view bathe this suite in beautiful light. There's a large soaker tub ( reminds one of some hotel suites) a sink with large vanity, a shower & behind a privacy screen, facilities. We're already booking our next visit!

We had an amazing stay at Paula's cottage. The property is well maintained and very spacious. Kayaks are also available for use during stay! Paula is also very friendly and checked in with us to see if everything is going well. Highly recommended and will definitely stay again in the future!
