3+2 Bedroom Cottage in North Kawartha (two hour drive from Toronto)

Welcome to our home away from home! Located a two hour drive from downtown Toronto in North Kawartha, is our 3 bedroom cottage (plus 2 bedroom guest cottage), just steps away from the private shoreline on Big Cedar Lake.

Location:
Situated between Lakefield and Apsley, with easy access to Peterborough.

Property Layout:
The Property has a large main cottage on the water's edge with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one shower, one tub), full kitchen, and dining area - all with expansive windows to view the lake. Stairs to the lakeside stone patio lead to a large seating area and the BBQ.

Up a short hill is a separate guest cottage featuring two bedrooms (one with a queen bed and one with single bunk beds), a 3-piece bathroom (shower/toilet/sink), and a kitchenette/living area. Please note that the guest cottage is not appropriate for guests with mobility issues.

At the water level we have a converted boat house for use as a games room, ?Art Lab?, and as a screened in area to enjoy a campfire when buggy. The fire pit is located between the main cottage and the boat house.
Beyond the boathouse is a small children's playground, a bigger kids tree house, and a screened in gazebo to enjoy some peace and quiet by the lake.


Waterfront:
The property provides over 200' of private shoreline, and the cottage is situated approximately 13' from the lake. Our small bay provides a sandy shallow entrance for little kids and launching canoes and kayaks. The floating dock has a depth of approximately 4'-5' depending on the season, and is equipped with a jumping (not diving!) platform. Enjoy the sunny Southwestern exposure from one of the Muskoka chairs on the 16x20' dock, or take a canoe, kayak, or stand up paddleboard out for a paddle. The lake is approx. 4Km long with lots of bays, and generally warm water, great for swimming.
