Welcome to Port Albert!
Port Albert is a small, unhurried village on the shores of Lake Huron along Ontario's west coast, known for its warm sandy beaches, breathtaking sunsets, and remarkably clear night skies. It's a place that moves at its own pace — and that's exactly the point.
This four-bedroom bungalow sits just a two-minute walk from the beach, nestled between two neighbouring properties for extra privacy. The open-concept layout and two large decks make it well suited for families or friend groups looking to settle in and truly unwind for the week. Evenings here have their own quiet magic — campfires under a brilliant Milky Way, and if you're out at sunset, you may catch the sound of the village bagpiper, a beloved local tradition that guests mention again and again.
The Space
The open-concept living area flows naturally out onto two large decks, making the transition from indoor to outdoor feel effortless. Whether it's morning coffee, afternoon barbecues, or late-night conversations around the fire pit, the layout is built for the way families and friends actually spend their cottage time. Fans throughout the cottage keep air moving on warm summer days, and big windows invite the lake breeze in. It's classic cottage comfort — unpretentious, relaxed, and exactly what you came for.
The Kitchen
The kitchen is genuinely well-stocked and ready to cook. A full spice rack and pantry staples mean you just need to bring the main ingredients. You'll find a Keurig and Cuisinart drip coffee maker, an air fryer/rotisserie, a crock pot, filtered water, and fridge condiments already waiting. Two full fridges and freezers mean there's plenty of room for a week's worth of groceries for a group of eight.
Sleeping Arrangements The cottage comfortably sleeps 8, with room for a few extras:
Primary Bedroom: Queen bed + fold-down futon and twin inflatable Bedroom 2: Queen bed Bedroom 3: Double bed Bedroom 4: Twin bunk beds — perfect for kids
The Bathroom
There's one full indoor bathroom with a bright, compact shower, plus an optional outhouse on the property for overflow. The real star for beach days, though, is the outdoor hot-water shower at the front of the cottage — ideal for rinsing off sandy feet and swimsuits before heading inside. With most of your time spent outside anyway, the setup works smoothly in practice.
Beach & Outdoor Living
The beach is a two-minute walk — and we've made it even easier. Beach chairs, an umbrella, and a wagon are all provided so you can load everyone up and head down without the usual juggling act.
Back at the cottage, the fire pit is the natural gathering spot once the sun goes down. Campfire wood is included — just add marshmallows, good company, and a clear night sky. The BBQ is ready for your cookouts, and the spacious private lawn gives kids (and adults) room to roam.
Entertainment & Rainy Days
Should the weather roll in, the cottage has you covered. A genuine Pac-Man/Galaga arcade cabinet, board games, and books for all ages make rainy afternoons surprisingly enjoyable. Outdoor games like Cornhole and Bocce are on hand for when the sun returns. High-speed fibre internet and streaming via Amazon Fire Stick and Apple TV round things out for movie nights.

| First, booking the cottage was quick and easy. Kate was responsive and provided all the information needed. The cottage was perfect for my family. Enough space for all of us, but also cozy. The living room, with wonderful windows that allowed the sun light in, was a great common area for us to spend time together. Which we did by playing some of the board games they provide and competing against each other on the arcade they have! So fun!!! All kitchen appliance needs are provided. And I have to comment on the very cool coffee mugs they have to chose from, for your morning coffee. They provide two (2) refrigerators so there is more than enough space to store your food. And a family sized dining table. The bedrooms are comfortable and so are the beds. The master bedroom is awesome! The sliding doors to the deck - really make the mornings that much more lovely. We enjoyed use of the fire pit area. We cooked a few things there (like a grilled cheese), and just enjoyed the fire in the evenings. The string lights really make the area relaxing. And the outhouse, for us, made things feel more cottage-y. I want to add that the decorations and details found everywhere were greatly appreciated! Lastly, the walk to the beach on Lake Huron was very short, and the beach was great. It was never crowded when we were there. The lake water was clean and refreshing! We enjoyed sitting out on the beach. We hope to book the cottage again this year!!
