Welcome to Second Wind where friends and family come to relax and reconnect. The cottage faces NW to catch the iconic summer sunsets. We are located on a quite dead end road with minimal traffic for long walks and bike rides. The cottage is nestled in the pines, then opens up to a professionally landscaped waterfront. There is NO diving or jumping from the dock. The shoreline is flat rock, however can be slippery as water levels fluctuate. Water shoes are recommended.
At the waterfront is a gazebo with seating for shade, a fire pit with seating for 8, 2 lounge chairs with an umbrella and a quite area to relax in the double hammock. There is a sandy area for building sand castles and playing outdoor games ( corn hole, ladder toss, ring toss, bocce ball, pails, shovels and croquet set).
We have 7 kayaks (2 are kid sizes), 2 older style standup paddle boards and a canoe for water fun. We have some life jackets available, please ensure proper size and fit and must be worn while using watercraft by law.
There is a large upper deck with dining and seating area with a weber bbq (one tank propane provided) umbrella, as well as a cozy screened in porch.
The kitchen is fully stocked for the cook and baker with newer appliances. The kitchenette has a coffee bar and beverage fridge. The dining area overlooking the harbour has seating for 8. The cottage is on a well with an ultraviolet light system and a reverse osmosis tap on the kitchen sink.
There is a 55" smart tv, no regular cable so bring your Netflix etc. account information. Unlimited wifi and fast speed internet (Starlink). The fireplace is not accessible for guests. There are several board games, puzzles and books for adults and children.
There is 3 bathrooms in the cottage, a 4 piece in the master ensuite, 2 piece off the kitchenette and a 4 piece in the hallway near the bedrooms. We are on a septic system so no grease or oil down the sink (tins provided in pantry) nothing but TP can be flushed. There is discreet bags in the bathrooms for feminine products etc. to be placed in the garbage.
There are 4 bedrooms in the cottage, one is in the loft (stairs). There is 3 king size beds as well as a double and twin over twin bunk beds. The pillows and mattresses are all fully encased in premium covers for peace of mind.
Provided are brochures and pamphlets to help plan your stay on the beautiful Saugeen/Bruce Peninsula. If you plan to attend the Grotto reservations are required from their website or you can call 1-877-reserve.
