Thank-you for taking the time to provide your positive & negative feedback.
We do take great pride in the job that we do to provide an enjoyable cottage rental & great customer service & I think all of our previous reviews speak for themselves.
Again, we do apologize that you felt that the well water was such an issue during your stay or that you had to take the time to write a negative review regarding this but we really do feel that we addressed the issue in every way we possibly could. We informed you of the situation, (which was completely out of our control). We had the water treated as soon as we possibly could prior to your stay. As mentioned to you in my e-mail response, we were unable to have enough time to get a well water sample to the lab in time for your stay as our cottage turnovers are on Saturdays & the lab is not open these days. We disagree that you were told "too bad" regarding your frustration,(as those words were certainly not used) however I did respond to you that we were sorry that you felt inconvenienced & that we did everything that we could to address the situation. You were even provided a discounted weekly rate from the beginning. There is no possible way that we in good conscience could not have informed you of the water situation & to take the precautions advised by public health as we hold our guests health in high importance. This concern of the inconvenience regarding the water for you our stay, was never brought up prior to your stay.
Regarding the water crafts, upon booking, all our guests are clearly informed that we are not waterfront, so it is known at the time of your booking that you will need to transport these to the lake. Our water crafts are stored outside, so it is completely impossible & unreasonable to guarantee that there would be no "tree droppings" from the outdoor elements. We are a cottage on a wooded lot.
Regarding the kitchen needs, we do not & have never provided kitchen needs such as spices &/or cooking oils, this is not something that is promised to you upon your booking. There is however everything that a kitchen requires to have available to you that you would need.
We do provide all the information required to you in your rental agreement prior to your booking, so our guests are fully ware of what you are responsible to bring prior to your booking.
It is certainly clear that our cottage was not the type of place that you were really looking for & was not a good fit for either of us as we truly feel that your expectations were very unrealistic.
We stand by the rental that we provide & the quality of the experience to our guests & we feel that you were very unfair in your review, especially since all our guests are provided with all the information that they require prior to confirming a booking, so that they can make an informed choice on whether our rental is the right fit for them.
