| No shower (at a cottage that is the first) No beach (take rocks out like most private cottages do) firepit run down and left a day early never to return. Also slippery rocks, so take extreme care. And owner cancelled second cottage at last minute due to plumbing issues Oh, and had to dispose of all recycling ourselves and garbage. Been to manitoulin island 4 times and already booked next year far away from this one!! Good qualities: Breeze/private/view/deck

Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the privacy, beautiful views, deck, and refreshing breeze that make our cottage a special place to visit. We are sorry that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. To clarify, our listing does not advertise a sandy beach, and both the three-piece bathroom facilities and the natural shoreline are clearly depicted in the listing photos. The shoreline is naturally rocky, which is typical of many waterfront properties on Lake Manitou. Due to environmental regulations and our commitment to preserving the natural landscape, we are not permitted to remove rocks or otherwise alter the shoreline. We understand that waterfront rocks can become slippery when wet and encourage guests to exercise caution when accessing the water. As outlined in our cottage information package, guests are asked to remove all garbage and recycling prior to departure, which is a common practice for many seasonal cottage rentals in the area Regarding your accommodation arrangements, your original request was to stay at this cottage for the duration of your visit to Manitoulin Island. At the time of booking, this could not be guaranteed. Two days at a different location were offered as a possible solution, and thus your stay was substantially discounted. When things worked out that your entire stay was going to be uninterrupted at the original cottage you requested to leave. You were now looking for a sand beach and nightlife. Your money for the days vacated was refunded. Moving you to the other location was not possible due to non-working bathtub/shower. We appreciate your comments regarding the firepit and will review its condition as part of our ongoing maintenance efforts. While we regret that our cottage was not the right fit for your vacation preferences, we appreciate your feedback and thank you for recognizing the property's privacy, scenery, deck, and waterfront views. We wish you all the best in your future travels and future visits to Manitoulin Island.

| A clean and comfortable cottage - the bedrooms are small but living area is very well furnished and laid out and the kitchen well equipped. The property was very nice with plenty of space for activities. We made good use of the fire pit and the wood stove inside. Everything was as described. The hosts were always attentive, returning texts promptly when questions arose. The canoe was a bit small and tippy for such a big lake. The weather wasn't really in our favor and it difficult to paddle against the wind. We had a great time at this nice cottage in a beautiful location. I would return if I was going back to Manitoulin.

| A comfy cozy cottage, Quiet location, quality BBQ, well equipped kitchen, also there is cable TV as well as video media. Canoe and paddles and lifejackets too, dry firewood provided, We had some rare cool nights for a few days as it was September, but the cottage was warm with electric heat, also a wood stove which we utilized one night, very warm. definitely worth a revisit. Yes my daughter would have liked a shower.

| Cottage was rustic n cute. It contained all the necessary amenities. The fact that there was no shower was challenging and the patio table on the deck was not usable due to the thick cobwebs. The first bedroom has no privacy as you have to walk thru it to get to the second bedroom. I have rented on the island before n never had to bring my garbage home with me. We vacuumed n cleaned up but was told I did not scrub the bathroom enough. This concerned me as this mean the last person was responsible for sanitizing the place. Otherwise we had a great week.

Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review we appreciate your feedback. We are happy to hear you had an enjoyable week. Recently the island made changes to garbage and dumping rules and had some dump closures which in turn we had to also adjust. In your signed rental agreement we do include that garbage does need to be removed upon your departure this allows guest to schedule their garbage removal to the dump during their stay and the dumps hours of operation. I hope you did get to enjoy our new dining set on the dock right on the lake. cobwebs can be a challenge outdoors Scrubbing is not required!! We just ask that the cottage to be left clean ( as they found it) so that all guest have a pleasurable week. Thank you
