2 bedroom winterized log home nestled in magnificent white pines. Very private with no visible neighbours. Situated on a hill, our home overlooks a small quiet lake. Enjoy the 12 acre property on a private road. Sit out on the deck and observe hummingbirds, otters, and blue herons. In the summer swim off our float and in the winter skate or play hockey on our large skating rink. So close to Ottawa (30 minutes) yet a very tranquil private property for those who wish to get away from it all. The cottage is available to families and adults over 25 years of age. Absolutely no party groups. There are no motorboats on the lake and at night you can hear a choir of bullfrogs.Enjoy swimming, hiking on our trails, skiing and snowshoeing. We make a very large skating rink in the winter for recreational skating and hockey games. Great for hockey families! Waterfront: 2 lakes to swim in. One is right in front of home off float (shoreline weedy). The other is a 10 minute walk - swimming is outstanding in clear water from shallow end. Also private property. Heating: electric baseboard heaters and wood stove. Guests allowed: Yes. 4 person limit overnight. Pets allowed: Yes with owner permission. Equipment: A 2 bedroom log home with all modern conveniences. We have a modern bathroom with bath and shower. There is a lovely fireplace to enjoy inside, as well as a firepit outside. There is a TV with a VCR, DVD player and selection of movies. We have a paddle boat, canoe and kayak for water sport and a float to swim from. There is a large deck with barbeque and patio set. Lie on the hammock and have a siesta. NOTES The high season rate from mid June through mid September is $980 a week. Note we only rent by the week during the high season. Offseason rates are $380 a weekend and $140 per night. | Peter is very helpful, caring and friendly. When I needed assistance he was available and quick to help which was greatly appreciated. The cottage is a little piece of heaven if you're looking for an escape from the city. It's like staying in a treehouse. Lots of birds greeted me when I arrived and I enjoyed the peace and quiet Manawan Cottage provides.

| The photos did not do this log cabin justice. It's perched in the hills, with a beautiful outdoor scene from almost every window. It was so quiet and we never saw a neighbor or heard any noise. Even though the weather was a bit cool, the cottage was toasty warm and we enjoyed the stone fireplace and coffees on the deck, watching the birds.
We enjoyed daily hikes on the private, well marked route with our dog, and used the peddle boat and canoes (we had access to two, and on separate lakes).
Peter was very kind and responsive, and really handled his rental in a very professional manner. The cottage was very clean. We are already talking about returning next year.

| We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage during the Christmas season. Peter and Shirley are wonderful, making our stay even more enjoyable. Peter put a great deal of effort in preparing small area of the lake for skating. Our canine kids also enjoyed their stay!! The cottage is about 30 minutes from Ottawa which is an easy drive from the cottage.

| Lovely cabin to vacation at, 2 lakes to swim in and use of canoes ect, very large deck with lots of seating, beds are comfortable cabin very cozy great views of the lake indoors or out this is our 2nd time there and still loved every minute even took longer vacation this time around and still did not want to leave, our daughters and dog joined us this year and they loved it aswell, very quiet and peaceful just what we wanted will be going back again. The owner Peter is great to deal with and not far away if needed for anything.

| Nestled among tall pines, this small log cabin is the perfect escape. The hilltop view of the lake is serene. If you are a nature lover and appreciate the quiet nights sitting around a campfire and the peaceful mornings observing the beautiful birds, then this place is for you. Nice trails for taking long walks with your dog. Access to a second lake with canoeing and kayaking a definite plus.
