| This very charming and cosy cottage was perfect for our short stay in Thousand Islands! Location is great (bike trail nearby, easy access downtown), very quiet, and the water view is just mesmerizing. Sit back and relax on the patio (or the top deck!), while birds are singing, and you're enjoying your meal by the fireplace.
Rob was very welcoming, and available for any questions. Also, we really appreciated the extension of our stay. We are giving 5 stars for this rating, and extra one for Nordiques supporting hat :)
We feel grateful having the chance to rent this beautiful place and hope we'll have the opportunity to come back again!

| Having boated in the 1000 Islands for many years, many years ago we were looking to come back and revisit all the waterway has to offer. Couldn't have picked a better week weather wise and the local/tourist traffic was at a minimum on the water.
So being right in the heart of the 1000 Islands this cottage checked all the boxes. Quite area, direct water access, private dock for our SeaDoo and just overall a great place to hang your hat for a few days.
Cottage was well equipped, clean and comfy which made our stay the laid back restful evenings we were looking for and easy access to cruise the islands by day.
Rob was easy to deal with and very responsive to all inquiries as well as very informative about the area and it's amenities.
Would happily rent again if the opportunity arises.

| I encountered this cottage by pure chance a year ago and couldn't be happier I did. I am and hope to be a returning guest. This cottage can be whatever you want your stay to be. The upper deck allows for some excellent painting opportunities with the spectacular views. The cottage is quaint, homey and charming all rolled into one. The open concept and vaulted ceiling makes it feel much much larger than it is. The owner/host Rob, makes you feel like you've been a friend for years. Always helpful and provides many tips for navigating the local communities. Waterfowl is seen on a daily basis right outside the door. This year I was able to see a Hooded Merganser, Herron and a few Osprey coming in for their morning feed. I watched a bass' habitat actions right under the dock. (Quite interesting) Water activities are endless and fabulous for fishing. Did I mention "fabulous" for fishing? There is a private launch two minutes down the road operated by some lovely people and for a small fee you can launch your boat for the week and dock it at the private cottage dock. Navigating the Islands by boat is relatively easy and if you're lucky you'll find some beaches to enjoy a swim and picnic at. I look forward to my next stay at Red Dog Cottage. | We stayed at Red dog cottage earlier this summer and had the most wonderful week in such beautiful surroundings. Rob was there to welcome us and make sure we were at made to feel at home, and the cottage was so well equipped with everything we needed for a great stay. It is such a spectacular spot right on the water, especially sitting up on the balcony deck and watching the sunset. We loved exploring the area, great hiking trails in Landon bay park just a km up the road, or Rock Dunder (20min drive but worth it) - and a short drive into Gananoque which has everything you need. The cottage was the perfect place to explore and unwind, and made for a very comfortable home for the week. Definitely hoping to be back next year! Thank you.

| My fiance and I stayed at Red Dog Cottage for one gorgeous week from July 20-27, 2019. I have nothing but amazing things to say about the friendly owner Rob, the tranquil location, the cottage itself, the picturesque view, and the whole experience. It is rare that so much comes inclusive with the cottage. What you see in the pictures does not truly do the cottage or view justice. The neighbours are friendly and quiet, and we barely saw or heard one human all week, save for passing boats and jet skis. If a quiet, rejuvenating, scenic, waterfront, fully equipped and comfortable cottage is your idea of an outstanding vacation (as it is mine), I would highly recommend Red Dog Cottage. We will be returning.
Tips - The fridge and freezer are a good size so you won't really need coolers. Bring bug spray, as the mosquitoes do come out at night time, but they are not that bad. There is a DVD player and lots of movies at the cottage for a movie night. Bring your own marshmallow roasting sticks. It is a 5 minute drive into town (you could even bike it on the ample trails/sidewalks), so there is no need to overpack food. If you forget something, it a quick jaunt into Gananoque. Also, we didn't do this, but bring your passport, as it is so close to the USA border - we kind of wish we went, but the cottage itself was so awesome we didn't really want to waste a day away! Lastly, the view of the stars is so clear at night - bring a telescope if you have access to one.
