| This cottage has everything you could ask for! The owner, Valerie, is very quick to respond to any questions we had. The photographs depict the property well. The kitchen is small but has absolutely everything you need. We've stayed at 'higher end' cottages that have not had such well-equipped kitchens as Oars N' Smores. The cottage deck is larger than it appears in the photograph and the view to the lake is stunning. The beach/dock area is perfect and in great shape. Comfortable beds, clean space. A lot of love has been put into this property and it clearly reflects that. We had a fantastic week and hope to return. Thank you for sharing your wonderful cottage!

| I love this cottage! It is perfect for families, with comfy beds (two queens, a bunk bed that sleeps three, and a separate bunkie that sleeps 2), and a beautiful sandy shallow shoreline with gorgeous roomy and well built decks. Not too deep right off the dock, but you can dive a shallow dive no problem - it's about 4-5ft. There is also a floating inflated raft. Sun on the dock all day long. There are endlessly toys for kids and even kid / adult dvd's and games for rainy days. A wood burning stove makes a cooler day almost welcome, while the large wrap around deck looks out over the lake - just stunning. It is also close to amenities (groceries, lcbo, fine foods / butcher w game meats, wood fired pizza, kawartha ice cream, Port Carling farmer's market, seafood shop, fish and chips, Bala falls, Kee to Bala, Bala waterski show, santa's village, etc). The kitchen has everything. The fire pit, hammock, and long manicured lawn are a luxury.
The lake is so wonderfully quiet with only a couple of boats making short waterski runs here and there. Lots of kayakers, and not too many cottages on this lake. We rented a tandem kayak from an outfitter a half hour away (we're a family of three) and is was worth it, but the hosts offer plenty of options for exploring the lake (paddle boat, stand up paddleboard, sit on kayak for one). We have come here two years in a row - soon to be three, and our friends now book it for a week as well. Just totally perfect.

| We love Oars N Smores! Its is the most tranquil place on a lovely lake. The cottage is perfect for families looking to relax. Love that there is a sandy beach area with gradual entry for young kids with plenty of swimming area. Everything you need included in the rental and not too far from the city. The town of Mactier is quick drive in case you forget anything. Thanks Valerie for a lovely stay!
