Take advantage of this unique opportunity to rent one of 5 privately owned winterized chalets on Whitefish Lake, situated in the heart of Kenauk Nature (formerly the Seignory Club est. 1929). This privately owned territory encompasses 65,000 acres (100 square miles) of virgin natural wilderness the way it used to be centuries ago. Wake up in the morning to the majestic sound of the Loon or experience the beauty of one of many species of animals and birds that call Kenauk home. If you like fishing or hunting, or you like snowshoeing, hiking or mountain biking, you have found your paradise in very close proximity to both Ottawa and Montreal. If you are looking for more action, Mont Tremblant is only 1 1/ 2 hours away by car.
And access to this private domain is controlled by a card access system which ensures that you are safe and that no unwanted visitors may show up unannounced.
EXTERIOR This cottage has 249 feet of lake frontage on Whitefish Lake. There are only four other private homes on the lake and the view is completely unobstructed of anything but untouched wilderness.
A large majority of the Property has been landscaped with several large perennial floral gardens and lawns. The property also contains many species of mature trees such as maple, birch, hemlock, pine, etc., which provides privacy from neighbours.
The cantilevered 16 foot x 32 foot deck provides ample space to enjoy the magnificent view of Whitefish Lake, not to mention having outdoor fun with family and friends.
Water is provided by a deep artesian well and the water quality is outstanding.
A spectacular stone stair accesses a floating dock on the lake some 40 feet below the ground floor of the cottage, where a canoe, 2 kayaks and a rowboat are available and included with the cottage. No motorized boats are permitted on Whitefish lake, although you may use an Electric motor (not included) on the rowboat.
INTERIOR The 8 inch Western Pine log construction creates a rustic environment and excellent thermal mass which keeps the house warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The entire ground floor is open with cedar beams spanning the entire width of the building. Each of the 2 floors measures 28 feet by 32 feet (896 sq.ft) or 8.5 m. by 10 m.
The Ground Floor has a large Dining/Living area and the Kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, including an electric range, a full height refrigerator, a dishwasher, a microwave/air exhaust fan, and a bar fridge in the Island counter.
The stone fireplace contains a Wood Burning Insert which can heat the entire house without the use of the electric baseboard heaters.
The open pine stair brings you to the second floor where there are 3 bedrooms and one full recently renovated bathroom. The bedrooms are large and windows bring in abundant natural light.
The chalet is heated with baseboard heaters in every room on the second floor and 4 baseboard heaters (controlled by one thermostat) on the ground floor.
Internet and Communications: Due to the remote location, the usual city services such as cell service and internet are limited. It is possible to rent a Starlink ($) dish to have wifi on-site. The chalet is also equipped with a Satellite dish for Television.
All to say that if you appreciate a rustic environment with the comfort of modern amenities and the magic of natural splendor in the pristine wilderness of Kenauk, this cottage is definitely for you.

| We rented in November and I can only describe it as "Magic". It is very private (we felt like the entire park was our own), and we walked on hiking trails every day. The cottage is wonderful: open concept first floor with a fireplace (and high end kitchen), comfortable bedrooms upstairs. It is hard to explain the feeling of relaxation that the cottage induces. Is it the view of the lake, the crackling fire, the privacy and silence, or just getting away from the city? I don't know...it's magic.

| We had an excellent business meeting at the cabin. With several of us arriving early and staying on site, we got to squeeze in some R&R mountain biking, hiking, and getting our heads "off grid" and into total outdoors. This is a perfect cabin to bring my wife and kids back to for a longer stay. For our day meetings, the large dinning room table became the boardroom. The open concept flowed well for our catered meals, and also gave us a big lounge area to settle into for more casual discussions. The cabin has a rustic feel, but with modern amenities. I highly recommend it for a family getaway or a small casual meeting retreat.
