| This is a slice of paradise, and unless you have some very high standards for a cottage, you will not be disappointed. Very clean cottage. My wife and I and our 5 kids stayed there for a week, and it was wonderful. The beaches on the island are perfect, were quiet even during the Jul 1 long weekend, and have stayed in our minds. I held off writing this review in part because this is such a hidden gem. Thanks Lance! Thanks Lynda

| Great quiet place. Our first time staying on an Island, great experience. Visit the Topsy Farms shop - very nice people and interesting things to buy
Cottage was very clean - Linda does an amazing job and is super helpful - ask her about the Duck eggs
Nice drive around the island, nice beach not to far from the cottage (I think was a 10 minute drive) Not many cars on roads so great for bike rides (mostly gravel roads) Cottage is on a dead end road, not many cars and great to walk to end of road.
A dock and canoe would have been nice like most cottages have, but you can bring your own canoe/kayak etc

Owner response: Eric Thank-you for the good review. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay. You have made an interesting point about the canoes. I will check with Topsy about the use of their canoes for my guests. Take care. Lance | |

| Our stay at Solartude Cottage was just we were hoping for. The cottage was clean, comfortable and was supplied with everything we needed for our stay and for making meals including a BBQ. The games and movies came in handy for keeping us entertained during the one rainy night we had. Amherst is a beautiful island with picturesque views, relaxing breezes and the friendliest neighbours! We enjoyed kayaking near by and daily walks taking in the scenery while everyone we passed waived and said hello. The cottage has a large yard that is well maintained with a fire pit that is perfect for relaxing at night under the stars. We will definitely visit Amherst Island and the Solartude Cottage again for our next escape from the city.
