Cabin On The Cove is beautifully situated on Quadra Island, BC, the largest of the Discovery Islands. Visitors come in all seasons, drawn by the breathtaking coastal scenery and many recreational opportunities offered by this small group of islands located along the Inside Passage seaway between Campbell River on Vancouver Island and mainland British Columbia. Come, treat yourself to a comfortable stay in privately tucked away Cabin On The Cove. Watch seals play and eagles soar from your living room or deck. Hike local trails, beach comb or take a whale-watching tour. Relax on the deck overlooking the cove or curl up with a good book. The options to enjoy are many! The results: Deep relaxation, rejuvenation and reconnection with nature, with a loved one, with yourself! Completed in 2015, the modern 600 sq ft Cabin is privately situated on our 3.6 acre property. Perched some 50 feet above the tidal waters of Unkak Cove, the Cabin offers a stunning panoramic view of the cove, the forest opposite and Grouse Island in Quathiaski Cove. At night, the lights of Campbell River can be seen twinkling in the distance. The Cabin was mindfully designed as a comfortable get-away for two, with one bedroom with a comfortable queen sized bed, a three piece bath with sensuous rainshower, fully appointed kitchen with dining nook overlooking the cove, and an ample living room boasting a gas fireplace for coziness and ambiance in any season. The deck overlooking the cove is furnished with a bistro set for al fresco dining, lounge chairs and gas BBQ. The subtle deck lighting extends your enjoyment of this inviting outdoor living space well into the warm summer evenings.
Cell reception is good in the Cabin, although we highly recommend you switch your phone off as much as possible to fully benefit from getting away from it all in this special, quiet spot among the trees and mossy bluffs above the cove.
WiFi internet is provided. A Smart TV is provided for your viewing entertainment and a cable is available to receive input from your computer if you wish.
For local venues and things to do on Quadra, we recommend you visit www.quadraisland.ca and see what activities interest you most.
Some highlights include: sea kayaking, hiking trails, excellent mountain biking, beachcombing at Rebecca Spit, a thriving arts community with studios and galleries open to the public, canoeing on Main Lake, taking in the summertime Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings and much, much more! See the Guide to the Discovery Islands (www.discoveryislands.ca/guide/) for other ideas.
Also, the Quadra Island Community Centre hosts events all year round, while live music can be found at local venues, resorts and bars. May Day and Canada Day festivities are annual celebrations that the entire community looks forward to. Take a look at the Discovery Islander (www.discoveryislander.ca) or the GumBoot (www.thegumboot.ca) to see what current activities are available.
Cabin On The Cove is a no-pet, no-smoking environment. Due to rocky bluffs and uneven terrain, the Cabin is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. We will consider babes-in-arms, but do contact us beforehand. Maximum occupancy is two (2) adults, plus one (1) mature child 12 to 18 years of age. On request, we can provide a comfortable air mattress for the child in your party.
Also due to the rocky terrain and the 14 steps down to the Cabin, unfortunately, the Cabin is not wheelchair accessible.

| This beautiful place could be called the ?Spiritual Retreat on the Cove? because you will feel good vibes and totally at peace here and calling it a ?cabin? does not do it justice at all. It starts with the owners Pat and Graham who greeted us upon check in, but gave us total privacy thereafter. They are great souls and they put plenty of their energies into making this place very beautiful and efficient. With many other places, my wife and I have to do an extra quick clean up when we arrive, but this place was spotless and they do not use chemicals to clean, only natural ingredients. The bedding and towels were also very clean and did not have perfumed or dryer sheet smells. They had a small refrigerator in the well appointed kitchen, along with another larger one near the front door in a closet which was very handy for us to store some oysters. The hot tub on the scenic balcony was very efficient and was also mainly chemical free except for some needed bacteria killing ingredients. They also had the cleanest propane BBQ we had ever seen and we sort of felt bad about leaving it in a ?used? condition. The bathroom was very nice and the bedroom was very efficient. We hope to return again next year!

Owner response: We are so very happy that you and your wife had such a positive and relaxing experience in our cabin. We find our home in this powerful natural environment to have the spiritual quality you mention and we planned our cabin to take full advantage of that quality for the benefit of our guests. We are so pleased that you were able to experience the space as a retreat - which we all need from time to time. And thank you for appreciating the lack of chemicals in the cabin. We are committed to providing as non-toxic a space as possible - both for our guests and to keep our footprint small for the sake of the fragile ecosystem we cherish. Please do return - we would love to welcome you back anytime! | |

| I hesitate to write this review because I don't want this cabin to gain popularity so I won't have to compete with people to stay here. The Cabin: absolutely breathtaking the pictures don't do it justice. We stayed in early March and nothing was blooming. The cove was still breathtaking we had mixes of sunshine and cloudy rain everyday and each weather offered a beautiful sight of the cove. There is a family of seals that were in the water to greet us every morning and the binoculars supplied gave us a beautiful view of the surrounding areas. The cabin itself is wonderfully crafted and has beauty in every inch. Truly a luxurious stay The island- incredibly quaint and a wonderful pace of life to take a vacation at. People will bring their dogs to the supermarket and park them outside without a leash for everyone to get some furry attention. Plenty of places to explore and short hikes if you want to get out. Also two lane roads all of the island make for great relaxing driving Hosts: pat and Graham were wonderful and brought a wonderful energy to our stay. They were available when we needed them to be and gave us the privacy you expect with vacation. Overall great place to spend some intentional time with a loved one. Will be back again.

| Best ever rental in our many years of renting in lovely places. Newer, clean, thoughtful details, hand built.... and wonderful hosts. It's a Wow and conducive to slowing down, hence a week's stay is necessary and more time would have been even better! Super private and quiet. Just what we needed. Thank you Pat and Graham!

| We just finished enjoying a two night stay at Cabin on the Cove and I can't say enough about it. The cabin itself is beautiful and new, bright, clean and was perfect for our getaway. If you are looking for peace and quiet with a view and some relaxing hot tub time mixed in, don't hesitate to contact Pat and Graham. They were so nice and accommodating, while at the same time giving us our privacy. Take advantage before too many people find out!!

| The panoramic windows made for an amazing display of the view, and even though it was raining majority of the time we still felt at home and relaxed just watching the day go by! I am the type that is always cold but it was so nice and cozy throughout the whole cottage I never even had to put my slippers on! It was also very convenient that they have Netflix available for when the sun goes down and your left with nothing but silence, candles, a cup of tea and your loved one. I would highly recommend this amazing cottage to anyone that needs some time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life :)
