A SWEET LITTLE WATERFRONT COTTAGE AVAILABLE TO RENT! Relax and enjoy our air-conditioned, bright and cheery 800 sq. ft. cottage with direct waterfront on a peaceful Sturgeon Lake inlet. We are conveniently located on a township maintained road off County Road 8 in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. We are the perfect spot for couples and small families! In a quiet bay setting, the cottage is super clean and designed to give you all of the comforts of home, with the added bonus of a lake right outside your door. The property has plenty of privacy with mature trees and tall cedar hedging. The cottage features three bedrooms, one washroom (with shower) and a comfortable sitting/ dining area. Our kitchen has plenty of storage and is fully equipped for all of your cooking needs. Your rental also includes our Satellite TV, Bose soundbar, Internet/Wifi, a DVD player with movies, and Netflix!
Water activities include canoeing, kayaking and fishing. We install our main dock each year over the May long weekend and remove it at Thanksgiving, and have a second (small) dock which remains in the water year-round. Boats and jet-skis are welcome :)
Please note that swimming conditions at our cottage waterfront are NOT ideal due to depth and vegetation. We have access to a tiny private swim area less than 3 minutes (walking) from our cottage for the exclusive use of the residents of our road. Please inquire if interested.
While we love animals, we are a pet-free cottage. All little humans must be 4 years of age or older.
** UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER do we permit parties, events, fireworks, unauthorized day or night guests, tents, trailers, or indoor smoking/vaping. Such infringements will result in a complete loss of your rental fee and security deposit and an immediate eviction from the property, regardless of your scheduled departure date. **

| Wow Wow Wow!! Not enough stars available to give The Scottage. Heather and Wayne have created a space of pure serenity. So many amenities available, if you forgot it, chances are it's standing by in a drawer or cupboard. The furniture and beds are comfortable, and everything is labelled to make use of all amenities super easy. The Air Conditioning is a nice benefit, but even on the hottest days we rarely had to leave it on overnight. The area is beautiful, and the neighbours were all quiet and respectful of others. Except for one, named Steve (the Heron), who thought he could just fly in and hang out whenever he wanted. We stayed at the start of summer, so all the Ducks and Geese had their babies with them and would swim around the little inlet every day. Easy drive to the two closest towns, Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon. Both with cute little shops and nice little beaches. We were there for Canada Day week and the beaches were never terribly busy. Heather and Wayne are fantastic hosts who make you feel like their cottage is there just for you. We are definitely returning to The Scottage!

| The Scottage is a beautiful and cozy getaway with everything you could want in a rental and more. The cottage is immaculate and so well equipped - if you were to stop and think, "I wonder if they have a...", you will probably find it exactly where you would expect to in your own home. The beds are comfy and the location feels private while still being close to groceries, restaurants, and lots of outdoor activities. Having access to 2 kayaks (and a canoe) was a huge plus for us and we enjoyed getting out on the lake daily. The wildlife sightings were a highlight, too. The owners are so thoughtful and accommodating - we felt like special guests when we arrived to a welcome gift and everything set up for our comfort. Highly recommended!!

This was our first time staying at the Scottage to celebrate my birthday. When we arrived to my surprise I found a birthday card, gift bag and bottle of wine, along with Smores for a fire and a bag of peanuts for the chipmunks.
We can't say enough good things about the Scottage. It was welcoming, tastefully decorated, and spotless, If you forgot anything I'm sure Heather hasn't. There was plenty of paper products, coffee and teas, condiments, and even kindling and firewood. The gas fireplace was a nice addition, and quickly warmed up the cottage in the morning.
We enjoyed sitting on the dock with our morning coffee, my happy place. The kitchen was very well equipped and organized. We enjoyed many meals sitting on the deck, overlooking the water. The bed was comfy, and my husband enjoyed the peace and quiet. Took advantage of the kayaks, went for walks and enjoyed a fire in the evening under the stars.
Had the best fish and chips in Fenelon Falls and a great burger in Bobcaygeon overlooking the water. Both a short drive from the cottage.
Heather and Wayne were very pleasant hosts and easy to reach if needed. We have already booked our week away next September, and look forward to returning. We have rented many cottages in the past, and the Scottage is outstanding!
Thank you Heather and Wayne for sharing your lovely cottage with us.

| This was our second stay at the Scottage and was just as fun and relaxing as our first visit. Heather and Wayne have fully equipped the cottage down to the simplest item like a meat thermometer (made BBQing our picanha cooked to perfection!) So happy here, we've already booked for next year....and that vacation can't come fast enough!

| This was our second visit to The Scottage, and we found it just as lovely as the first time. The owners, who are friendly and well organized, have left so many things for guests to use- paper towels, napkins, all sorts of cleaning products, first aid supplies, batteries etc. The A/C was a bonus in the hot weather, and the gas fireplace was a treat near the end of our stay when we used it to take the chill off in the early morning. Netflix is provided and was much appreciated. Fenelon Falls is about 10 minutes away and has good restaurants and interesting shops. Bobcaygeon is about 10 minutes in the other direction, and has the ever popular Kawarthas Dairy. Both towns have beaches. Lindsay is 40 minutes away and we had a wonderful meal at The Cat and the Fiddle there. The Fenelon Fish and Chip store (formerly The Corner) has take- out and the best fish and chips we've had in awhile! It's a 9 minutes drive away. I would recommend The Scottage for 2 people, the 3rd bedroom being the area we used for storage. The deck is partially covered and always shaded, and there are 2 Adirondack chairs on the dock for sun lovers. There is no swimming in this small bay because of extensive algae and weed growth, but 2 kayaks and a canoe are offered so you can get out on the open waters of Sturgeon Lake. A peaceful, quiet, and relaxing place to stay. Thank you, Heather and Wayne.
