(instagram @themcdonaldcottage) Situated on Buckhorn Lake in the Kawarthas, The McDonald Cottage is the perfect year round getaway for families. Main level has a large open concept kitchen and dining room with gorgeous views of the lake and a walk out to the upper deck with a BBQ, table and seating area to enjoy the view! Kitchen has just been renovated (spring 2022) and offers quartz counters, vaulted ceilings and is fully loaded with all the amenities you will need! Huge family room with 2 hang out areas, TV, games/ books and more stunning views is the perfect rainy day hangout or game night spot!
Main level also offers 2 bedrooms: 1 King and 1 Queen as well as 1 full bathroom with tub/shower, an additional 2 pc bathroom as well as laundry and is approx. 1430 sq ft.
The lower level is above grade and offers the same beautiful lake views with tons of large windows and offers 2 bedrooms: 1 Queen and 1 double bunk room, plus a 3pc bathroom, hangout area and walk out to the yard.
Due to the bedroom layout, we are only able to accommodate a max of 6 adults + kids.
Armour stone steps take you down the long grassed yard to the newly built dock and steps into the shallow shoreline. This is the perfect spot for kids to play while the family chills on the dock. The bottom is rocky in this area so pack some water shoes for the little kids. The lake is fairly shallow so the water is usually a great temperature for swimming! Brand new armour stone fire pit area was just put in and offers the best spot to watch the sunset and roast marshmallows!
We have a canoe, 2 paddle boards, 2 kayaks and a floating water mat to use at your enjoyment, as well as fishing gear and outdoor games like bocce ball, spike ball, corn hole and more!
We are located only 6 minutes away from the town of Buckhorn which has a general store, LCBO, restaurants, groceries etc. We are also located 25 mins from Bobcaygeon, 25 mins from Lakefield and about 35-40 mins from Peterborough.

| Beautiful waterfront property with lots of indoor / outdoor amenities. Both property and house well maintained. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need and large family room is comfortable and well appointed with board games and other activities. Large grass area provides comfortable space for kids to play lawn games that are provided by the owners. Buckhorn lake provides great fishing for fishing enthusiasts.
Andrea (owner) was great to deal with and responded quickly with any questions we may have had.
I would highly recommend the McDonald cottage.

| Had an amazing week at the McDonald cottage with my family of 6. The cottage is beautifully decorated and is spacious enough for 6 adults to comfortably stay. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need and more.
The waterfront was stunning with easy lake access and a large fire pit to enjoy at night. We had a great time playing with the water sports and outdoor games supplied by the McDonald's.
We would highly recommend the McDonald's cottage for your next vacation.

| A very spacious cottage for six adults and one baby. A well equipped and large kitchen with all the small appliances required for your stay. The sofa is big enough to accommodate the whole family to watch movies. The powder room on the main floor was a nice bonus.
The outdoors was well equipped with lawn games and for water activities right down to water shoes and life jackets.
Plenty of sitting areas both in sun and shade. We enjoyed several meals on the large outdoor deck.
The nice proximity to the local town was very convenient.
I would highly recommend The McDonald's Cottage.
