The Blue Paddle Lake House is an authentic cabin and it was originally built in the 1950's so it has lots of charm and a cozy quaintness. The cottage is nestled on a large private lot just 4 minutes from the beautiful sandy beach (and no stairs to get there!) and close to all that the town of Grand Bend has to offer. In the summer months (June -Sept) we will be booking weekly rentals Saturday to Saturday. Our neighbourhood is made up primarily of year round homes and family cottages. Renting to families is a priority for us to ensure the best fit for both our guests and our neighbours. We do not rent to people under 25 years of age. The Blue Paddle Lake House has an open concept family room/ dining room and kitchen. It also has an enclosed screened-in patio room where smaller groups can gather for games and conversation. The three cozy bedrooms can accommodate six guests with 2 queen-sized and 1 double bed. There is room for two additional guests since the main room has a stackable bed (or day bed) that can act as a single or 2 singles when unstacked (so cottage can really sleep up to a total of 8 people). There is one 3-piece washroom (with shower) and an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand after a day at the beach. This cottage comes with a half bath in an out-building - always a handy thing with a larger group. We have an electric fireplace in the main room and baseboard heating. Please note, the side door leading into the kitchen is not a standard height. A person over 5'8" will need to be cautious when coming through this door. The front door is a standard height.
Our cottage has great outdoor spaces for the family to enjoy including a fire pit with lots of seating, fantastic outdoor decks and an outdoor eating area with umbrella.
This property is in a quieter area of town and a short walk to the beach, the town Marina, and Main Street. You will be around the corner from River Road where you can find the Sunset Art Gallery, Yacht Club & boat launch, and Restaurants. South Beach is an easy 5 minute walk straight down Lake Road and it is a 15 minute stroll down Main Street to Main Beach. And if you are looking to get in a round of golf we have lots of golf courses nearby including Oakwood, White Squirrel, Sand Hills, and Widder Station.
If you enjoy nature, there are great walks right out the front door along the west side of the Old Ausable Channel. For a longer stroll, jog or bike ride, head out to the rotary trail along Highway 21.
Visitors to Grand Bend also enjoy the local Starlight Drive-in theatre, Dark Horse Winery, Pinery Provincial Park, Huron County Playhouse, and the Grand Bend Motorplex Raceway.
