Note: Cross Lake is only 15 mins from both Madawaska and Maynooth. Both have a general store, gas station and LCBO.
Cross Lake is approx. 30 mins from Bancroft, which has a 24hr groceries, pharmacies, LCBO, Beer Store, Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, many established and local food outlets and a hospital.

| We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sunset Lakeview cottage! The cottage is compact, but the set up was well thought out. There were fantastic views of the lake throughout the entire living space, and lots of seating options outside with equally beautiful views. The only thing I'd mention is if you are a larger person, entering the bathroom could be a tight squeeze.
We were able to prepare all of our meals using the cookware and utensils provided. We have definitely rented cottages where the pots and pans were unusable, but this was not the case here!
There were lots of outdoor activities available at the cottage, and we made use of the kayaks to explore the lake. A highlight for us, while relaxing on the dock, was having multiple close-up visits with the resident loons.
Days when we chose not to stay at the cottage, it was a short trip to Algonquin Park, as well as Maynooth and Bancroft. There are options nearby to be as busy as you like, or you can simply enjoy the lake.
Throughout the rental process, Linda was very responsive to all of our questions and communication was great. We were happy to have the opportunity to meet Linda and Neil in person. They were wonderful, welcoming people and we enjoyed our short visit with them.
We definitely plan to return, and perhaps bring along some of our other family members.

| As first time cottage renters our family had a pleasant stay at this cottage. It's well maintained and clean, with great views of the lake. We liked that it came with everything we needed including a BBQ, and outdoor equipment like canoes, kayaks and pedal boat. Would highly recommend.

| This cottage sits on one of the most beautiful Ontario lakes. Expansive & quiet, we loved seeing the otters swim by. The weather was starting to cool off but the water was still great for swimming. Cottage & bunkie are cozy and well maintained. We especially appreciated provision of the linens - that saves a lot of work! When we had six people for a few days, it was a bit cramped - which is my only issue.

| Wow! What a spot!! The cottage has everything you need, so leave your worries at home. There was 6 of us for the week. 4 kids (14 to 10) and 2 adults. I'm sure the lake was peaceful until our 4 showed up....sorry neighbor's! You really don't see anyone when you are here. The cottage and the bunkie perfect. Gave us time and the kids time. All the water sport equipment there to use. Kids took full advantage of them all. Host Linda is marvelous, and what a great welcome gift. Very thoughtful and such a smart gift to give. Great fishing for everyone. Seen the beaver, turtles and a chipmunk and red squirrel were getting used to us. Thank you for having us! Definitely 10stars for this spot!!!!

| A beautiful and quaint cottage that is fully equipped. Incredible views of the lake and surrounding rolling hills. Perfect for kayaking, canoeing and swimming. Woke up many mornings with the loons singing (and dancing!) and spent many hours kayaking the entire lake over the week. Would definitely recommend this gem! (Also did a visit into Manooth - a sweet little town with a couple gorgeous art shops.)
