The open-concept living, dining, and kitchen space is bright and inviting, centered around a soaring stone fireplace and massive windows that frame the lake. The fully equipped kitchen features full-size appliances, cookware, and everything you need to prepare family feasts or cozy dinners for two.

Our goal is to make your vacation feel effortless, from the moment you arrive to the moment you head home. We've stocked Blue Heron Hideaway with all the essentials: towels, bedding, pillows, paper products, kitchen basics, and more + extras like sound machines and a better-than-at-home supplied kitchen. You won't find bug spray or sunscreen, but you will find everything you need to cook a meal (salt, pepper, sugar, spices etc), sleep well, and have fun!
As many guests say, I'm the hostess with the mostest because I try to think of everything, so your only job is to pack your personal items, favourite comforts, and a bit of food. No stress. No overstuffed car. No mountain of laundry when you get home. Just a relaxing, well-equipped escape.


Summer Highlights:
Private waterfront with shallow-entry, crystal-clear swimming, perfect for little ones. Includes 4 sun loungers, inflatable dock addition with in-water seating + 2 River tubes, loads of beach toys and floats. Kayaks, padded boards and canoes are also included. Excellent fishing right off the dock!
Spacious yard with mature trees- bask in the sun with loads of space for lawn games or find some shade for a nap. And don't forget stargazing around the fire pit. + Ninja Activity line set up for kids
Large covered deck with comfortable seating and a propane BBQ- perfect for effortless outdoor meals, rain or shine.


Shoulder Season:
Beautiful fireplace with large mantle and floor to ceiling stone in the bright and spacious living room with views of the lake.
Open-concept great room with soaring ceilings and expansive lake views- room for everyone to gather without feeling crowded.
Wood burning barrel sauna, complete with aroma therapy (essential oils included) along the lakes edge. You can create your own spa experience or just have an excuse to sit by the lake, regardless of the weather.

The EOTA ATV trail is just 5 km away.
Kennebec Wilderness Trails and the lake's public boat launch are only minutes from the property.
Surrounded by charming small towns (like Northbrook and Sharbot Lake) offering unique events, local shops, great restaurants, and all the essentials you may need during your stay.
Bon Echo Provincial Park is just 35 minutes away and is an excellent spot for additional hiking and exploration. Mazinaw Rock with its hieroglyphics is a must see!
City of Kingston Downtown is less than an 1.5 hr drive with so much to do, we can't possibly list it all! History, art, scenery, unique restaurants, special events and concerts- it has it ALL!
Dark sky reserve- just 40 minutes away.

Sleeping Arrangements:

Though officially 2 bedrooms, the layout is flexible, functional, and made with families in mind:
The Forest Room- Primary Bedroom: King bed + optional full-size floor mattress and room for a pack n play (great for a couple + littles). Features peaceful forest views.
The Lake Room- Bedroom 2: King bed + twin-over-twin bunks (sleeps 4 total). Ideal for kids, teens, or another couple. ** Note max bunk capacity is 200lbs per bed and not for adults)
*2 USB ports in the nightstands, a fan and sound machine/night light in each room*
For Babies and Kids:
Pack n play (with quality mattress and sheets) available on request.
Video baby monitor with 1000ft range for peace of mind.

Bringing Your Pup? We Get It.
We know pets are family and between the cost of boarding and the guilt of leaving them behind, it's not always ideal. That's why we're happy to accommodate up to 2 well-behaved dogs at Blue Heron Hideaway.
To ensure a comfortable stay for all guests, we ask that pet owners agree to a few simple rules before booking. A pet fee applies to cover additional cleaning. We do not allow cats at Blue Heron Hideaway.


Guest Access:
-Guests have full, private access to the entire cabin and all outdoor spaces between the driveway and the lake- including the fire pit, yard, beach area, private dock, deck, and all provided amenities.
-Check-in is simple and secure with a unique keyless entry code generated just for your stay.
- Please note: For safety and property protection, the front of the property (facing the driveway) is monitored by 2 exterior security cameras and there are two cameras monitoring the sides of the cottage. There is one camera on the lakeside, which will always be turned off during your stay. No cameras will be monitoring interior areas, ensuring full guest privacy.
