My husband and I recently stayed at Clear Lake cottage with our dog, and had an absolutely delightful experience! We were surprised by the lovely gift basket, and really enjoyed it! The location is fantastic. It is private and just 15 minutes north of Huntsville. The south-western exposure ensures breathtaking sunsets and all-day sun. It has a sandy beach area with shallow entry into the water. We also enjoyed fishing right off the dock! The cottage itself has the rustic charm of Muskoka, with vintage and antique furnishings which made it a cozy atmosphere. The cottage was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Our host, Terry was quick to respond with any questions we had. We had a great time playing ping pong in the evenings. From the deck or the dock we would relax outdoors and take in the breathtaking views of the lake. The nightly bonfire near the waterfront was a highlight, where we enjoyed roasting marshmallows under the stars. We also made good use of the canoe, 2 kayaks, and paddle boat. This cottage is the perfect place to relax, and unwind. We will return!

We were looking for a quiet getaway and chose this spot because we have stayed in smaller cottage resorts on the lake in the past, but this spot was a treat for us. We knew the lake for it's crystal clear water and sandy shoreline, and this spot definitely did not disappoint. The view points down the longest stretch of the lake and has a perfect sunset view from the dock and deck. The cottage is beautifully curated with antiques and memorabilia that make it feel like a cottage, but the beds and couches were modern and comfortable. The fireplace made the space cosy and homey in the evenings and early morning. The kitchen had all we needed. Terry was quick to respond to our initial inquiries and checked on us once we arrived. All amenities (gas, groceries and LCBO) were minutes away in Novar, so we didn't have to travel far once we arrived. We have decided to rent a week in the summer with our family.

I've rented many cottages throughout Ontario, and this Clear Lake cottage near Huntsville, has been one of my favourites. It has a nice position on the Lake in a lovely bay, overlooking the water. The sunsets are pretty incredible! Being an antique lover, the interior appealed to me, It was cozy and comfortable, the fireplace is great. Terry was kind and responsive, we really appreciated the welcome basket. I'd recommend this cottage and hope to stay again.

This place is a great. Had a nice peaceful week . Clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. The beds were super comfortable and the place was very clean when we arrived. Terry was very responsive and easy to work with. Will be booking again this year.

We had a great stay at Terry's cottage. It's definitely very charming and rustic. We loved having our meals outside and took advantage of the fire pit and provided kayaks to explore the lake. We also enjoyed its closeness to Huntsville for groceries, gas and dining. Terry surprised us with a welcome basket with supplies for smores and some wine which we enjoyed.

There were a few things that weren't listed in the posting which would have been nice to know ahead of time - linens are not included in the price and you must take your own garbage out etc. Some of the appliances (oven, coffee machine) are older and took some getting used to. But overall, a very lovely stay. Cottage was clean and Terry was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. I would stay at this cottage again if I'm in this area.

Thanks for the positive review and for being a lovely guest! I checked my listing and the linens provided tab is not selected so perhaps you missed that part of the listing under the list of amenities tab, this was discussed at your first contact and we did actually provide you with linens and towels free of charge for your guests. Renters removing their own garbage is pretty standard for a cottage rental and actually any STR I myself have rented both in Canada and the USA. The oven is actually not very old (about 8 or so years) and was quite expensive top of the line range close to 3k. I will check the coffee maker but I am pretty sure it was replaced about two years ago as they do not last very long. Have a great winter!
