Escape to the fresh lake air and hear the waves from the deck of our quintessential vintage beach bungalow wrapped in oaks, pines and Lily of the Valley with a nice lawn. Family friendly and comfortable. Best suited to no more than 6. (adults+children) We spent years looking for THE RIGHT ONE and we found this split log gem. Location. Location. Location. Walkable. Bike-able. Peaceful. Feel the sand between your toes in minutes. Phenomenal Sunsets 2 Minutes walk to South Beach with no steps and <5 minutes walk to Southcott Pines Sun Beach with 15 steps and 2 landings. If you want the vibe of the Main Beach it is a 15 minute walk. Presently the Lake Huron water level is slightly lower and beaches are somewhat bigger with sandy bottom lake and no mud or rocks. 5 minute walk to Cottage Cafe by the yacht club and 10 minute walk to Main St. Food: Lake Hound. Tipsy Pelican. Growling Gator. Denny's French Fries. Paddington's Pub. Dave's at Oakwood Inn. Tim Horton's. St. Joseph: Hessenland Inn & Schatz Winery, White Squirrel. Port Franks: McPherson's. While our 1500 Sq. Ft. "cabin in the woods" is definitely retro our guests have enjoyed our many upgrades providing comfort and relaxation. Large family room with lovely gas fireplace. 4 season sun porch. High speed internet. Wifi. Great cell service. Cable. Netflix. Board games. Large rustic deck with propane BBQ, picnic table and Adirondack style chairs. Propane fire-pit. Pinterest-worthy upgraded 3 piece and 4 piece bathrooms. Enjoy our eclectic mix of old and new decor. Ceiling fans, lots of lighting and central air. We value good sleep and have locally sourced luxurious pillow top mattresses for King and Queen beds and upgraded 2 Single beds in Twin Room and new Double mattress on sun porch. Protected pillow and mattress covers with hypoallergenic duvets.
Well-outfitted basic kitchen with No. 4 cone drip coffee maker, Keurig, coffee grinder, tea kettle, artisan toaster, blender, slow cooker, etc. Kitchen linens provided.
Please bring your beach gear such as beach towels, blankets, floats and toys since we do not provide. No food provided.
COTTAGE RULES:
No parties. No noise. Just peace. FAMILIES ONLY with Primary Renter at least 30 years old.
No smoking inside or preferably anywhere on the property.
No pets. No trailers.
Housekeeping and Cleaning: Please leave the cottage as tidy and clean as you found it and you will get your full security refund. Cleaning supplies and vacuum provided. Indoor garbage to be outside. Security camera.
Outdoor garbage pails to be at bricked curb on Monday nights for Tuesday morning pick-up.
Sunday evening summer concerts on Main Beach, Huron County Playhouse and Dark Horse Estate winery next door. Mini-golf on Main St. Try golfing at Oakwood, White Squirrel near St. Joseph's, or Woodland Links up near Clinton.
Our local favorites: Klopp's Cedar Villa Angus Farms beef and pork excellent at Wednesday morning at Farmer's Market at Anglican Church across from Oakwood Inn. Try Jerry's Country Catering in Zurich for wonderful homemade deli specialties: salads & meats, Dutch Apple & other fruit pies. Hayter's Turkey Farm in Dashwood has great turkey creations as well as great wine and beer selection for the BBQ. Hessenland just North of St. Joseph's for great German food, vineyard and events. Zehr's south of Bayfield Amish grocery.

| My husband and I have rented cottages for many years in Southcott Pines. Bluebirds Nest was the most comfortable cottage we have rented to date. Jo-Ann our host was exceptional and the cottage had all the amenities of home. Anything that we had forgotten to bring with us, Jo-Ann had at the cottage and invited us to use the items. (Variety of teas was awesome!) She enquired if we made it safely to and into the cottage and shared lots of information for things to do and see in Grand Bend. By far she exceeded what a host is required to provide. We look forward to spending another week next year in this lovely cottage.

| Jo-Ann was a fantastic host who was readily available to answer any questions. She provided directions and information before our weekend stay, that allowed us to enjoy every minute we were there. The cottage was up to date and provided many kitchen extras (delicious coffee!). We were able to enjoy many walks and discovered beautiful look outs over the water.
The house was very quiet and private, surrounded by established trees all around.

| I recently stayed at Bluebird nests as a first time cottage renter for a weekend (October 2020) and every part of it was amazing! It definitely surpassed my expectations and made my first experience at a cottage prefect! The cottage was absolutely stunning inside and out, the photos did not do justice to how amazing it really looks! The cottage was clean and fully stocked (a range of toiletries, spices, coffee, cleaning supplies, etc) with everything we needed so all we had to do was eat and relax! Jo-Ann was wonderful! she was available for us anytime with questions or concerns and also checked in on us to make sure everything was ok (Thank you Jo-Ann!) It was a chilly weekend but we made the best of it by bundling up to sit outside by the firepit for smores or cozy on the couch with the fireplace going playing games or watching TV. Walking through the area and on the trails was beautiful! The sun was out with a crisp fall breeze and everyone we passed by on our way was so friendly. I would highly recommend staying at bluebirds nest! It was wonderful in every way and I do hope to return one day!

| Our gang loved this beautiful clean spacious cottage along with its ideal location and surroundings.
The windows were open our entire stay. The waves really will put anyone to sleep.
With that sound I could have slept on stones, the bed was much more like a long hug, very comfortable.
As the day goes on you need only shift your lounge chair on the deck to stay in the shady cool breezes. The polite privacy in all of Southcott Pines shows the effort and comittment homeowners truly have while creating and maintaining this Grand Bend sweet spot. Our family really felt blessed have this week of perfect weather. We quickly appreciated the low speed limit and felt safe letting kids explore nearby. South beach was so close, and the shallow sandy bottom of Sun beach made tending the little ones worry free while we watched the amazing sunsets.
At first the peace is kind of hard not to notice at Bluebirds Nest. My hammock got alot of use.
If the fresh air doesn't send you to bed too early you may even see the resident owl that lives in the trunk of a tree on the property as it sets out to hunt. That was a delightful surprise for all.
Our host was really helpful in making sure our stay had no hicups, most of all she stayed in touch until we had settled in and was certain we would have a great week.
It really seemed there was a bit of magic for our summer kick off. Thank you Jo Anne

| Just came home from a lovely week at Bluebirds Nest. We had a wonderful time with our kids and grandkids. The cottage was perfect. It was clean and spacious. Comfy beds, lots of dishes, silverware, pots and pans etc. Love how all rooms had there own towels.
The kids of course loved having netflix and games to play. The extra sunroom was perfect for us The grandkids stayed in there and had alot of fun We loved how close the beaches were and the yard was so nice and private to come back to and relax and have a drink.
This cottage is in a perfect spot You can walk to the strip about a 10 min walk, We even walked to No frills for a few groceries. It was one of the nicest cottages we have rented. Thank you Joann for being such a great person to deal with.
